Innovation and Scaling Associate, Akros

Position Overview
Akros is seeking an Innovations & Scaling Associate to support data collection and data transmission activities in Lusaka, Zambia. The Associate’s core role will be to develop informatics concepts for community information systems, mobilize resources to expand current programs, and keep Akros aligned with global trends in the mHealth, health informatics, and ICT4D spaces. The position is expected to be about 30% software configuration and maintenance, with 70% R&D (innovation, business development, and learning). S/he will work under the oversight of Akros’ Senior HMIS Advisor, who is also based in Lusaka.

Informatics Program Associate, Akros

Position Overview
Akros is seeking an Informatics Program Associate to support data collection and data transmission activities in Lusaka, Zambia. Since Akros programs constantly shift and grow, this Associate must be willing and able to independently develop flexible technical solutions that can quickly adapt and scale. The position is expected to be about 70% computer programming and system testing, with 30% R&D (innovation, business development, and learning). S/he will work under the oversight of Akros’ Senior HMIS Advisor, who is also based in Lusaka.

Business Development Specialist, Akros

Position Overview
Akros is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support partner engagement and bid coordination and preparation from Lusaka. S/he will work under the oversight of Akros’ Director of Business Development, who is also based in Lusaka.

Some general responsibilities include:

  • Participate in proposal preparation for both Zambia-specific and regional opportunities
  • Track business development efforts for the Zambia country office
  • Support proposal teams to prepare technical and cost proposals for a wide range of potential clients by creating the proposal schedule and keeping track of proposal progress
  • Providing process leadership and expertise
  • Monitoring progress against key milestones
  • Assisting the Team Lead to ensure compliance with solicitation requirements
  • Helping the Team Lead to develop and communicate a proposal strategy
  • Ensuring that all critical tasks have been delegated to team members for action
  • Undertaking technical and routine writing assignments, as required
  • Assisting with costing preparation and review, as required

Human Resource Manager, Akros

Position Overview
The HR Manager will manage all HR related issues, provide legal guidance to ensure compliance with Zambian Labour Laws, managing of office, responsible for logging and tracking commodity use among Akros teams, including computers/peripherals, mobile phones and consumables, and initiating procurements of the same. In addition, the HR Manager will control vehicle scheduling and moderate usage, manage the contract files of all Akros human resources, and coordinate with the Country Director to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies. The HR Manager will ensure high up-time of office utilities, including water, electric, internet and follow up general repairs. Ensure a conducive work environment for all staff.

The HR Manager will directly oversee grounds and maintenance staff as well as Akros drivers, and will report to the Country Director.

Surveillance Officer, Akros, Zambia

Position Overview
The Akros Surveillance Officer will assist in the planning, coordination, development and oversight of assigned districts in supporting community-level surveillance across multiple programs. This position will liaise with stakeholders from the donor organization, key GRZ officials across Ministries at the central, provincial and district levels, traditional leaders, village-level stakeholders and Akros senior management to facilitate program objectives and optimize resource flow.

The ideal candidate will be able to work across multiple programmatic areas to support implementation of all Akros programs in his/her assigned districts. The candidate will be able to manage various programmatic deadlines, identify best practices and leverage implementation efforts across multiple programs to successfully manage his/her assigned districts.
